Budizol: from spotting energy losses to changes in the installations
Monitoring of factories and hotels helped identify issues around reactive power, compressed air, lighting and the level of contracted capacity.

The challenge
Budizol runs reinforced concrete and timber prefabrication plants in Włocławek as well as hotel operations. Across facilities as varied as these, the company needed data that would point to the sources of its costs and help plan improvements in operation.
The solution
APA deployed the IPOE platform, bringing the group's production plants and hotels under monitoring. At the reinforced concrete prefabrication plant, analysis of the data helped identify additional charges linked to reactive power, the operation of the compressors and the lighting schedules.
The findings from monitoring were used in work on leaks in the compressed air installation, in correcting the lighting control and in deploying active reactive power compensation. The result required both recognising the problem and a technical intervention.
Setting contracted capacity from measurements
At the timber prefabrication plant, several months of observation made it possible to assess actual demand against the contracted capacity. The data provided the basis for lowering it and reducing the corresponding fixed charges.
Monitoring also covered the Verte, Indigo and Rosevia Resort & SPA hotels. There, the data supports energy analysis in the context of day-to-day operation and guests' needs.
Results
The deployment provided the basis for reactive power compensation, changes to equipment schedules and an adjustment of contracted capacity. The summaries help compare the profiles of different sites and check the effect of each subsequent measure.
